The International Association of Chinese Nephrologists (IACN), Hong Kong Society of Nephrology (HKSN) and International Conference Consultants Limited (ICC) respect personal data privacy and are committed to complying with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (“PDPO”) (Cap. 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong). In doing so, we strive to ensure compliance by our staff with the strictest standards of security and confidentiality.

In order to provide a better service to you, ICC as a Data Controller may collect information when you attend ICCN 2024, use our services, register with us or communicate with us. The typical types of information held by ICC are basic contact details, a record of our contact with you, and your areas of interest.
Personal data is collected by ICC on a voluntary basis. Personal data may include your contact details (such as name, job title, company name, address, email address, telephone and fax numbers), professional or academic qualifications, a record of our contact with you.
When we collect personal data from individuals, we will provide them with a Personal Information Collection Statement (PICS) on or before the collection in an appropriate format and manner. We keep our Personal Information Collection Statement under regular review.

Personal Data Collected Via Forms / Sections of Our Website
The information you provide in the "Registration" section is used by ICC to respond to or handle your enquiries, comments or suggestions. The personal data will be used for communications with you in relation for your attendance at ICCN 2024.
Personal data provided by a complainant will be used, disclosed or transferred only for those purposes related to the complaint, for discharging ICC’s functions or where permitted or required by law. Personal data held by ICC will be kept confidential, but we may, where such disclosure or transfer is necessary to satisfy the purpose, or directly related purpose, for which the data was collected, provide such information or copies to the following relevant parties (whether within or outside the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region):

In addition, personal data may be disclosed under any of the circumstances described in part VIII of the PDPO in which the concerned personal data are exempt from the provisions of data protection principle 3 of the PDPO.

Personal Data Security
We take appropriate steps to protect personal data we hold against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure. All personal data you provide to ICC under this website is secured on this website. We have implemented appropriate physical, electronic and managerial measures to safeguard and secure your personal data. Access is limited to authorised personnel within IACN, HKSN, and ICC only. The transmission of any information online is not secured by encryption.
Your personal data will be kept by the service providers engaged by ICC and are accessible only to our authorized employees and service providers.
The ICCN 2024 registration software and mobile apps, engaged by ICC are developed and maintained by Centium Software as a Data Processor.
Retention of Data
We take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure that personal data will not be kept longer than is necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes (or any directly related purpose) for which the data is or is to be used, unless the retention is otherwise permitted or required by law. Personal data which is no longer required will be destroyed.
Access and Correction of Personal Data
Under the PDPO, individual have the right to request access to and correction of his personal data held by ICC. A charge may be imposed to cover the cost for processing a data access request.
